They take millions from special interest groups and Nurse you are shirt. They are civil servants and should be paid as such. There should be a nonbiased oversight panel that manages their benefits and keeps them in check. The 3 branches of govt are supposed to be for checks and balances. Nobody’s checking congress. I second the motion of arriving at Congress with pitchforks and torches demanding their pensions and entitlements.
